-STONE ISLAND-

Probably for me the most anticipated event at the recent Milan fashion week was Stone Islands first on schedule presentation of the AW08/09 collection and the unveiling to the press of the very exciting new members to their design team. Menswear designer Aitor Throup and Acronym’s Errolson Hugh both I believe contributing shoulder pieces to the AW collection although I am not 100% certain on Errolson’s role in any particular jacket in the collection as I did not attend the presentation myself!
The bottom two jackets both have a very ACR feel about them so I will speculate that they are Errolsons contribution to the collection. The top Image is by Aitor Throup who has developed a new construction method for this piece called ‘modular anatomy’ where every element of the jacket is a separate section I will show the exploded diagram in a post later today which shows this concept in action.
It certainly is exciting times for everyone involved in this project and leaves me eagerly anticipating the next instalment from Stone Island, with designers who push the boundaries of construction and design concept mixed with a team at SPW who embrace the design challenges put in front of them making nearly anything a possibility.
