Final Home is one of my most loved brands, I love the aesthetic of their creations first and foremost but the ideals behind the pieces to me make the designs all the more interesting. The Multi pocket parka pictured above designed by Kosuke Tsumura was based around the idea of portable environment that would provide immediate shelter in an emergency. The inspiration for this piece and the other multi pocketed items produced along side it was that of ‘enforced nomadism’ the jackets design aims to combat that by catering for the basic human needs, the all over pockets can be filled with rolled up newspapers to provide warmth or in an emergency such as a natural disaster be filled with food or medicine supplies. The idea being that the items themselfs could function as your housing.
