I went along to the Luhring Augustine gallery in New York yesterday to see Larry Clarks most recent body of work Los Angeles 2003-2006.Los Angeles 2003-2006 focuses on Jonathan Velasquez a teenage skate boarder Clark met by chance in south central LA and went on to inspire his most recent film Wassup Rockers. Check the Luhring Augustine website for the full press release about the show. The show will be coming to London in February 2008 seeing these images at scale is a must if you get the chance. Alongside the show a book by the same name has been published containing all the images from the show in a first edition of 1000 copies its currently available at www.luhringaugustine.com for $80 its a beautiful publication I will add images of my copy when I’m back in the UK.
