It’s very rare these days that I go in to a shop and find a product I was totally un-aware of, from a brand that I follow, this Junya EYE carhartt jacket took many by surprise including the team at DSM who knew not much of it before it arrived in a delivery last week. I tried this on on Monday and today I popped by and picked it up, this version has been reworked to resemble a blazer where the other version available is the classic work jacket style with a Junya twist.The pop of orange on the under collar just sold me on this over the classic jacket, both styles come in black and duck and are selling quickly it seems.

A nice fact I found about this jacket today from my friend at Carhartt was that this was not a traditional collaboration, Junya actually purchased the jackets (100) from Carhartt and then reconstructed them in japan,I really like this and in a way makes it more authentic as its wasn’t a collab with commercial incentive, just Junya appreciating a classic work wear piece and seeing the value in working on the original as a base rather than copying it.
